Week 2 - Atlanta Corporate Fight Night

Week one ended with me dropping 4.5 lbs, but only following Terri's prescribed eating plan for the last 4 days of the week. I just realized she has me on a gluten and wheat free diet. I'm really curious to see where my weight sits on Thurs morning because that will be a full week of eating this way. I am feeling stronger and I truly believe this is a sign of toxins leaving my body.

Had an interesting learning experience yesterday. I took my typical Sunday bike ride, rode out 15 miles and on my way back was roughly 6 miles from the end and bonked. I had some energy beans in my bag but I decided not to eat them as they are 100% sugar. I had nuts and a banana waiting for me at the end so I rode on, completely on empty. When I got up this morning I truly expected to see the scale move down but it was exactly where it had been yesterday morning. Interesting. Did I not drink enough? Probably... And does that hinder weight loss? Probably because I was clearly at a calorie deficit. But here is the learning moment. I wasn't upset at what the scale told me because I knew I did everything right yesterday, except to perhaps not get quite enough water. So there was no kicking myself, beating myself up, and turning to food because lord knows that's not the answer! Getting there.....baby steps. My friends at H3I will be happy to read this : )

And can I just say that sitting through Eat Pray Love last night with only an apple to gnaw on and a huge bottle of water to drink was torture. Pasta has never looked so good.

Today begins week two of training camp along with week one of the new job. Should be interesting!

Atlanta Corporate Fight Night training camp opens!

On Monday August 9th training camp for the upcoming Atlanta Corporate Fight Night opened. For some of us it was just another day at the gym in the heat of a summer afternoon. For others it was the beginning of something besides fitness boxing. For all of us it is the start of a great adventure!!

I've been absent in my postings of late. Quite a bit going on with me over the last week. I've decided to accept a full time position which starts Monday. I really had to think hard about this after spending a year and a half working as a consultant and contractor for myself. I view this as an opportunity to go back into industry and strengthen some skills that I can then bring back to my business- Pink Bird Solutions.

So back to boxing....

Part of my challenge now is to make weight over the 10 weeks of training camp. Since the fight try-outs I've lost 12 lbs just doing it my way basically, but now Terri has me on a pretty interesting food plan so please no invites to dinner until after Oct 21. The excellent news is that coffee is allowed so you can keep those invites coming, but nothing else except water and something called young coconut water. Tonight will be my first taste of that. For the next 10 weeks my dinner will be similar to what you might be feeding your rabbits and hamsters- carrots and apples. She even has me eating tuna with just a little EVOO and lemon juice...my first bite was tentative and tasty! Of course when I make tuna I first wash what comes out of the can and remove all the funny colored parts and give those to the cats. But overall it's ok. This is the full first day of it. Let's see where things stand come August 28th, the first two weeks of this way of eating and close to the end of week 3 of training camp. By then I might just be floating like a butterfly. Think I might already be stinging like a bee.
